The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is undertaking the repair and rehabilitation of the General Edwards Bridge, which spans the Saugus River from Revere to Lynn, Massachusetts. CDW, as part of the design team, is responsible for preparing the required environmental permitting for the initial rehabilitation project.
For this project, CDW prepared the Notice of Intent under the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and represented the agency at the local conservation commission meetings. During the research for the Notice of Intent, CDW identified a state species of special concern and their associated habitat as being potentially impacted and under the jurisdiction of the Massachusetts Endangered Species Act. This finding affects the project timeline by limiting the time of year the work can be performed.
